Next week (Feb 14-18) I’ll be attending the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF Region VII) Conference, to be held in Arcata, CA at Humboldt State University. I’ll attend workshops on dramaturgy and theater design/production. I’m excited, and feel lucky to go. I’ll write updates of the workshops I’ve attended after the conference.
Stay tuned!

Update 2/21/2011
So the conference was great!
I saw four plays and attended workshops each day but the last (by that time the KCACTF region 7 cold/flu bug made its way to my hotel room). The plays were: Angels in America: Millenium Approaches, produced by Saint Mary’s College of California; Xtigone, a contemporary adaptation of Antigone, produced by California State University, East Bay; The Time Machine, or Love Among the Eloi, based on H.G. Wells classic, produced by Ohlone College; and Up (not based on the animated feature), about escapism, family and identity, produced by University of Idaho.
I attended workshops on dramaturgy, gender in performance, and collaboration. Plus, I explored the HSU Library. The conference was definitely worthwhile.

It is disappointed that none of the shows go to Washington, D.C. this year.
I also explored the HSU Library. It is a nice library.
