The Information Professional’s Social Club is kicking off Spring with a tour of Stanford University Libraries’ Archive of Recorded Sound.

The Archive of Recorded Sound houses recordings, film & video, and print & manuscript resources including items dating back to the 1800s, when recorded sound was in its infancy. Sound recording formats include wax cylinders, shellac and vinyl discs, magnetic wire recordings, tapes, CDs and more. Additionally, the archive features a remarkable collection of phonographs and other playback equipment.

The tour will be followed by a social networking event at Russo Cafe, within easy walking distance of the Archive.
